Jodie and her son Michael both say that Spelling to Communicate saved Michael's life. He says he was living in a silent prison and was ready to end it all. She is angry that ASHA (The American Speech, Hearing and Language Association) is gatekeeping and keeping others from learning to spell because of their public statement, and she urges other parents of autistic kids to please just try it.
