The Top Four Essentials for a Successful Practice Merger or Sale
Manage episode 499525309 series 3294026
Hi! I’m Stephanie Rodin, host of the Speaking with Steph podcast. In this episode, I want to speak to you about something that I recently went through, which was merging or selling your practice.
In this episode, we discuss:
Merging or selling your healthcare practice involves careful planning around contracts, employees, ongoing work, and accounts receivable to ensure a smooth transition.
Start by reviewing all third-party contracts, decide which ones transfer to the buyer, which need cancellation, and check required notice periods or detailed language.
Evaluate contracts, employees, work in progress, and receivables before starting the process, and time key communications (like informing employees) at the right moment, ideally when a “confirmed deal is in place.”
Buyers need visibility into both outstanding work and receivables to avoid confusion about who gets paid for which services and when.
