We often think God’s favor means life is smooth — bills paid, passports stamped, and shopping bags in hand. But Hosea 2 reminds us that sometimes His favor looks like pruning, pressing, and even wilderness seasons. Not because He’s punishing us…but because He loves us too much to let our hearts stay tied to idols.

In this episode of Sow in Love, I’m sharing how a family trip to Miami turned into a reminder about overconsumption, discipline, and the Lord’s way of drawing us back to Him. We unpack Hosea 2:19 together and talk about how God uses the wilderness—not as rejection, but as restoration.

What You’ll Learn in This Episode:

  • Why God sometimes allows discomfort as an act of love
  • How Hosea reveals the Father’s heart for a wayward people
  • The difference between “Egypt” (bondage) and the wilderness (training ground)
  • Why your suffering may actually be evidence of God’s favor
  • How to trust Him when comfort is stripped away

Scriptures to Meditate On:

  • Hosea 2:19 — “I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion.”
  • Exodus 3–14 — God delivers His people from Egypt
  • Psalm 30:5 — “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

Complimentary Gift for Your Stay
This week, I’m reading Life Without Lack by Dallas Willard, and it has been a powerful reminder that God is always enough. I encourage you to grab a copy—it will shift your perspective on provision and trust.

Your Invitation
If you’re in a wilderness season, know this: God hasn’t abandoned you. He may be leading you away from Egypt (bondage, idols, hustle culture) and into a place where you can finally hear His voice again. Favor comes in many flavors—and sometimes the sweetest fruit grows out of the hardest soil.
