When Jesus came the first time, the Jews expected Him to be a warrior, one who would overthrow the Romans and usher in Israel's golden age. And one day that’s exactly what He will do. But that was not His original purpose. Isaiah chapter fifty-three points us to the purpose of Christ’s First Coming. Not as a soldier but as a servant who would defeat sin, Satan and death itself. That’s the picture of Jesus painted for us in the Gospel of Mark, and Ron takes us there next, as he continues his teaching series, “The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible: Gospels and the Early Church.”
