Hey there,

Thank You for listening to the first episode of the Single Guy Saving Money Podcast.

This podcast will discuss my journey as a single guy saving money to help other single people save money.

I want to help other single people that live on their own and don't have kids save money.

Why single people that live on their own with no kids?

They don't have the same financial issues and benefits as married people and people with kids do.

Single people have more freedom to spend their money as they please.

For example, they don't have to worry about supporting a family.

This might sound great and all, but it can lead to some issues.

If they did not get a good financial education, they might not have their financial priorities straight.

It can lead to serious issues down the road.

They also might not have the accountability that someone who is married has.

I want to be the accountability friend they need with their finances.

What gives me the right to help single people with their finances?

I'm a single person myself.

I have lived on my own for almost 7 years now.

I was horrible with finances at first.

I would go on spending sprees and live paycheck to paycheck.

Once I started getting less income coming in, I had to get serious about my finances.

A lot changed...

I paid of $7,000 in student loan debt in 14 months.

I had $10,000 in emergency and sinking funds until it all got taken away from that scam.

Thankfully, I quickly recovered.

I got my $1,000 starter emergency fund back in place.

I have no debt besides my mortgage.

I don't consider that as major debt, because there's more equity in the house than there is debt.

I'm mainly focused on saving up $15,000 for a 1 year emergency fund.

I'm also a certified credit counselor through NACCC.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology which helps me understand single people and their actions, thoughts, feelings and behaviors on money.

It's time to put my degree into action.
