Prescott to Improve Watson Lake Water Quality

On June 2, the City of Prescott will begin treating Watson Lake to improve water quality and reduce algae and aquatic weed growth. Aquatic Consulting and Testing, the City’s consultant, will apply a phosphorus-binding product to the lake. Phosphorus binding removes excess nutrients from the water and lake sediment to reduce algae and aquatic weed blooms while improving water quality and clarity. The treatment is safe for drinking water, aquatic life, and recreational users.
