In this episode of ShiftEnglish, I try to make sense of a holiday I’ve lived around for over a decade but never fully understood - Thanksgiving.

We’ll look at where this holiday comes from, how it’s celebrated today, and how we might think more deeply about gratitude - not only for food and family, but also for the land and the people who were here long before the first Thanksgiving.

We’ll explore how Native Americans fit into the real story, the myths many of us were taught as children, and how we can make this holiday more intentional, less performative, and more human.

As always, you’ll pick up natural English phrases and expressions along the way - like go all out, show off, stuffed, and grateful - while improving your listening and vocabulary in a real, meaningful context.
