Winner of five awards and citations, including the Nautilus Book Awards 2025 Silver award in Science Fiction, The Logoharp chronicles the secrets, heartache, and rebellion of Naomi, a young American reporter who morphs into China's elite "Reverse Journalist." Her job isn't to report current events. She writes the future—and then it happens. Naomi extrapolates global events algorithmically, from a "Database of Crowds" -- millions of scenarios drawn from mass actors and the blood of history. Hearing both government instructions and mysterious voices of unknown origin in her Logoharp, a universal translator of 104 human languages, Naomi predicts political events with deadly precision.
We invite you to listen to Dr. Arielle Emmett’s interview with host Don McCauley.
McCauley probes Emmett on the uniqueness of The Logoharp’s core concepts—its “urgent explorations of truth, mis-and disinformation, and what it means to be human, all from the perspective of a winged, part-cyborg “Reverse Journalist.’ Emmett is a talent to watch.” (Publisher Weekly Booklife, “Editor’s Pick,” 2024).
Critics are comparing the novel to William Gibson’s Mona Lisa Overdrive, Paolo Bacigalupi’s The Windup Girl, and Blade Runner. The Logoharp complete is now an exciting audiobook, available on Audible and Amazon.
