After the juror issue is all resolved, the next witness, Gary Steier gets on the stand and we hear about how a bullet fragment was found in Steven Avery's garage MONTHS after the original search. Four months, if we're being precise.
What's sketchy though is that he mentions that Lt. James Lenk was on the scene in this much later search of the garage. Steier had no clue that Lenk had been called to testify in the civil lawsuit that Avery had against Manitowoc County and Manitowoc wasn't even supposed to be involved. So why were they there at all?
Since Steier didn't know about this civil lawsuit, he didn't really pay much attention to what all was happening in the garage itself. No one told him to keep an eye on those Manitowoc guys.
