Why I Built My Own Direct Primary Care (DPC) Practice And What I Learned
Manage episode 523362539 series 3679135
I built my DPC practice because I wanted medicine to feel human again. In this episode, I talk honestly about what worked and what almost broke me.
Starting my DPC practice was one of the most meaningful decisions of my career. I reached a point in traditional medicine where I felt rushed, boxed in, and unable to give patients the time they deserved. I wanted a model where I could slow down, listen, and actually help people make real progress.
In this episode, I talk about how my DPC practice started and the parts nobody warned me about. I share what it felt like to leave a stable system, how long it took to feel comfortable, and the unexpected challenges that came with running my own clinic. I also talk about the moments that reminded me why I made the switch in the first place.
My goal is simple. I want doctors, patients, and anyone curious about DPC to understand what this model offers and what it demands. It is not for everyone. But if you want more control over how you practice and more connection with your patients, DPC is worth understanding in a deeper way.
