🎙️ Show Notes

Marriage isn’t all candlelight dinners and anniversary trips — sometimes it’s drawer pulls, broken cabinets, and checks thrown in the trash. In this episode, Melissa and David take on the little fights that every couple has (and keeps on having) and prove the statistics right: 82% of marriages fight about the same things over and over.

From Harvard studies to “hills worth dying on,” the Radkes tackle small gestures, the weight of forgiveness, and why marriage sometimes feels like two completely different relationships with the same spouse. And in true Radke fashion, the perfect line: “We’ve had a really good time… at least eighteen percent of the time.”

It’s honest, it’s hilarious, and it’s very, very married.

🔹 Episode Highlights
  • 82% of marriages fight about the same things on repeat.

  • Anniversary lunch with Melissa’s parents… and another check accidentally tossed in the trash.

  • Drawer pulls, cabinets, and who’s responsible for home “fixes.”

  • Small gestures vs. grand gestures — why charging a purse fan beats a big trip.

  • Harvard’s 30-year marriage study: what really keeps couples together.

  • First marriage vs. second marriage (with the same spouse).

  • “Pick Your Hill to Die On” — sandwiches, leftovers, anniversaries, and who gets out of bed.

  • Mic-drop line: “We’ve had a really good time (at least 18% of the time).”
