In this episode of The Magical Mindset Podcast with Cliff Sewell I am joined by Recovering Alcoholic, Author of ‘It’s Not About The Beard’ and Community Educator Tom Fitzsimons.

Growing up in Belfast Tom talks about constantly living in fear and how his not ‘normal’ childhood was the start of his alcohol battle.

From the age of thirteen and by the age of thirty-three Tom discusses how his drinking was leading him to an early grave, and he needed to act as the excuses were running out.

Tom goes on to talk about during his sobriety journey he ran from San Francisco to New York City 3073 miles and he did it because he was frustrated and wanted to show that he could recover, do amazing things and that his potential was still growing.

Now over 17 years sober Tom ends with discussing how his perseverance, determination and drive for success has got him to where he is today as a Community Educator. His role now is to change perspective of addiction and break down the stigma .
