Today I’m joined by Dr. Wendy Harris, an innovative addiction and trauma specialist who integrates the Compassionate Inquiry psychotherapeutic approach, yoga and meditation, and evidence-based practice into her work. She is also one of the founding facilitators of Compassionate Inquiry and the director of the Addiction and Recovery Specialization at Antioch University Los Angeles.

In this episode we dive deep into what trauma is, how our understanding of it has evolved over time, and why it has become such a prominent conversation in recent years. Dr. Wendy shares her perspective on the link between trauma and addiction, how we can start to reduce the stigma around addiction, and why so many of us are living in a state of disconnection without even realizing it. Wendy also offers a powerful grounding practice to help you regulate and connect with yourself, as part of your healing journey.

This is a profound, compassionate conversation I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed having it.
