Inside INdiana Business Radio for Oct. 17, 2025. Governor Mike Braun will visit Caterpillar’s large engine center in Lafayette next week to tour its $725 million expansion and announce a $100 million workforce development initiative focused on robotics, automation and artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, new details have emerged on a $1 billion data center in Morgan County that could require 1,200 megawatts of power—twice the annual usage of all AES Indiana residential customers.

In Fort Wayne, construction of the new 8,400-seat soccer stadium remains on track for a March 2026 opening. Horizon League Commissioner Julie Roe Lach is leaving to join Pacers Sports & Entertainment as executive vice president of external relations and community engagement.

A new statewide survey finds five in six Indiana parents who want afterschool programs for their children can’t find one due to cost or access issues, though 89% support more public funding. And the University of Notre Dame and Beacon Health System are partnering on a new multi-year research collaboration focusing on oncology and health data.
