Manage episode 486743960 series 3579103
Ever felt helpless watching someone you love struggle with alcohol? In this episode, I’m joined by the brilliant Alex Clapp to tackle one of the questions I get asked most: “How can I help them stop drinking?”
Alex has owned multiple businesses in the North West, including County Cost Consultant, which he ran for 24 years. After overcoming addiction linked to an eye condition and achieving two years of sobriety, he co-founded Claritee, a corporate wellness company focused on alcohol-free events and mental health support.
Claritee aims to help professionals prioritise wellbeing and embrace vulnerability through tailored training and speaking engagements.
Alex shares his powerful personal story of addiction and recovery, as well as the impact it had on his family - and what helped him find his way through. We talk honestly about boundaries, emotional pain, and how to support a loved one without losing yourself in the process.
