In May 2025, Ryan Mitchell Kramer, a 25-year-old from Santa Clarita, California, pleaded guilty to hacking a Disney employee’s computer and stealing 1.1 terabytes of confidential data from Disney’s internal Slack channels. Posing as the Russian hacktivist group "NullBulge," Kramer used malware disguised as an AI art generator to access the employee’s credentials, downloading sensitive data like project details and employee records. After attempting to extort the employee and leaking the data online, he faced two felony charges—accessing a computer to obtain information and threatening to damage a protected computer—potentially facing up to 10 years in prison.
