In this episode I have the pleasure of speaking with Evan Schertz, owner of Maria’s Bookshop, a locally owned and independent bookstore since 1984, which over the years has created may partnerships within our community. Maria’s mission is to provide a space for thoughtful and engaged dialogue which supports a learning environment. In this program we will be talking about the upcoming Literary Foundation Fundraiser called “Everyone a Reader” beginning today and running through September 26, 2025. When you donate, they want to know what book made you fall in love with reading and they’ll be sharing a growing list of titles throughout the fundraiser. The purpose of the foundation is to build community connections by expanding access to books and storytelling, by nurturing curiosity, donating books and hosting exceptional literary programming.
