Welcome to The Daily Quote — a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, for July 26th.Now, did you know that today is Holistic Therapy Day? It’s a time dedicated to recognizing the value of healing the whole you — mind, body, and spirit — rather than just slapping a metaphorical Band-Aid on a problem or committing to taking another drug for the rest of your life!Holistic therapy integrates traditional and alternative approaches to address every part of your well-being. We're talking about mindfulness, nutrition, yoga, energy healing, art therapy — basically, all the good stuff that helps you feel balanced, even when life feels like a circus and you’re not sure if you’re the lion or the clown? And with that in mind, today’s quote comes from Deepak Chopra, who has spent decades teaching the world about the connection between the physical and the spiritual. He once said:“In the process of letting go, you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself.”Now that’s a quote that hits deeper than a deep tissue massage. Just like Rolfing... that's deep! So, what does this mean for you today? Well, Holistic Therapy Day invites you to consider what you might need to let go of — not just physical clutter, but emotional baggage, toxic thoughts, or even that commitment you said yes to out of guilt (you know the one). It’s in those moments of release, when you stop gripping the past like it's a winning lottery ticket, that you begin to uncover who you truly are — grounded, resilient, and more aligned with your purpose. Like finally hearing your own voice after turning the volume down on everything else.So take a breath. Maybe even two. Embrace something today that nurtures your entire self. That could mean journaling, a walk in nature, or just turning off your phone for 20 minutes — which, let's face it, in 2025, is basically a radical act of self-care.I just started reading 'loving what is' by Byron Katie and it hits some of these themes. Letting go of thoughts. Asking four questions to see if your beliefs are true and turning them around if they are not. I'm just getting into the book and the ideas are already percolating in my mind and I can see that there will probably be a Bryon Katie quote coming soon in a future episode. I'm just a couple chapters in and I already know this is a great one. That's going to do it for today. I'm Andrew McGivern, signing off for now but I'll be back tomorrow - same pod time, same pod station, with another Daily Quote.
