There is a time for every season. A time to speak, a time to be quiet, a time to question, a time to accept the way things are and a time to threw away the script and listen. That sums up my experience "interviewing" my brother on this week's episode. All I could do is listen and shed a tear or two.

It dawned on me when I prepared for the session that we really have not had a conversation like this since losing our mom. In my work with Adam' House, a peer support program for grieving children and their families who are coping with the death of a loved one, I've learned that our experience is not uncommon. These conversations are not easy but at the same time they bring healing, .

I was struck by the reflections he shared, especially since many of them were thoughts I have also considered. I too wondered what the lyrics in the songs we heard in church referred to. As a young child sitting in the pews during church service I just didn't understand. I remember my mother saying, "Just keep living." She was right. Just like she was about so many other things.

Mom, season 1 is dedicated to you! We remember what you said.

Hope you enjoy episode 2!
