A delegation went to inspect new printing tech but visited the wrong countries; and viewed the wrong machine. Despite this, a R900m contract was awarded to Idemia. Now in court, the deal may be scrapped. Meanwhile, over 500,000 licence cards remain unprinted. As the backlog grows, South Africans are left wondering: will the right machine ever arrive?
