This world wants an answer that they agree with to solve the problems that they have identified. Jesus Christ will go to the root of the issue. He will declare us Righteous before an almighty God.

His life demonstrated what He alone can give us: Temperance not tolerance; Forgiveness not acceptance; Joy not happiness

The World wants to solve problems by creating other problems. Jesus Christ is the only one who can solve the problem (sin problem). He can give our Soul’s Rest and Safety.

Let’s look at the Haven of Rest (Jesus Christ) and how the Ark is a type of His Salvation

  1. The Incarnation of Christ - Gal 4:4,5 (Gen 3:15)

    • Hebrews 11:7 “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”
    • The ark was not man’s design, it was supernaturally revealed to man, built by man, but man did not design the Ark. This is a type of the incarnation of Jesus Christ. God, became man, to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.
    • “The act of assuming flesh, or of taking a human body, and the nature of man. This is a term commonly used to describe Christ’s birth through the virgin Mary. God was incarnated in human form.” – David Cloud
    • 1 Timothy 3:16 16And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
    • “The redeemer of mankind, in order to substitute for man, must Himself be a man. While the Ark was God’s divine design, the Ark itself must be built by the sinner who was to be saved from the flood. The Savior must be both God and man. He must be man to atone for man’s sin; He must be God in order to bear the infinite penalty of man’s sin. Because He was a man, He could stand in man’s place. Because He was God, He could bear in a few hours the eternal, infinite judgment of God upon sin. The spiritually enlightened mind cannot fail to see in this shadow of the incarnation – the part that humanity was to play in preparing the Savior Jesus as the Ark of Safety.” M.R. DeHaan
    • Let’s look at scripture;
    • Galatians 4:4-5 King James Version (KJV) 4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. King James Version (KJV) This is a fulfillment of -
    • Genesis 3:15 15And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
    • God, became flesh and dwelt among us. Jesus Christ is known as the last Adam. Why? Because the first Adam failed, and He (Jesus) came and did what Adam couldn’t do. You see, man cannot stand in the gap or make up the hedge. Cain tried that, and failed. So Jesus Christ came. God manifested in the flesh. The incarnate Christ, the creator of all the universe, became a man, born of a Virgin, lived a perfect ife, fulfilled the law and willfully gave His life to be the sacrifice for our sins.. God designed it all – but Noah had to build it!

  1. The Invitation of Christ – Gen 7:1

Genesis 7:1 1And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

The first time the word “come” is used in the Bible.

God was already present in the Ark before Noah got in – understand this. The presence of God guaranteed the Safety of the Ark. (Eternal security – we are indwelt with the Holy spirit of Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. ) If the Ark would have sank it would have went down with God in it. This is impossible.

Matthew 8:25-27 25And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, LORD, save us: we perish. 26And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 27But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Christ is inviting you to Him

Matthew 11:28-29 28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Key Definitions

    • Heavy Laden – loaded down; heavy; weighted (in this context, loaded down very heavily)
    • Yoke – Harness that secures an animal to a cart or plough; beam where two animals were fastened to any purpose of labor”
    • Meek – Mild of Temper, gentle, not easily provoked or irritated

  1. The Instructions of Christ –

Genesis 7:15 15And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

Matthew 28:18-20 18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
