Lewis, the author of the beloved children's series The Chronicles of Narnia, as well as influential works of Christian apologetics like Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters. Born in Belfast and holding academic positions at Oxford and Cambridge, Lewis was a prominent member of the "Inklings" literary group with J.R.R. Tolkien.
