S2|Ep2 I Shall Not Want | Finding Contentment Under the Good Shepherd
Manage episode 518707259 series 3653934
Today, we’ll explore the second half of Psalm 23 verse 1, with insights from W. Philip Keller’s A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23, showing how trusting the Good Shepherd leads to true contentment beyond mere worldly wants.
As we wrap up, we get a sobering warning against the “fence-walking” heart that seeks both the world and God. May we be encouraged to self-examine, and heart check our humanity as we rest in God’s provision and care.

Psalms 23
The LORD Is My Shepherd
A PSALM OF DAVID.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
