Samsung is completely revamping their smartphone lineup for 2026, ditching the base and Plus model names in favor of the Pro and Edge, while maintaining the Ultra as their flagship device. Jeff and Torrey discuss Samsung's upcoming hardware roadmap, debate the One UI 8 update delay controversy, and analyze whether luxury devices like the tri-fold phone and XR headset are worth their premium price tags.
• Samsung's S26 lineup will feature Pro, Edge, and Ultra models instead of the traditional base, Plus, and Ultra naming convention
• One UI 8 is facing a two-month delay for S25 devices despite already being available on the Z Fold 7
• The Galaxy Ring 2 is expected to launch alongside the S26 series in January 2026
• Samsung's tri-fold phone may cost up to $5,000 to import due to tariffs and will initially launch only in Korea and China
• The upcoming Samsung XR headset will be priced between $2,000-3,000, making it cheaper than Apple's offering but still too expensive for mass adoption
• Samsung's tablet and Galaxy S25 FE offerings continue to confuse consumers with inconsistent naming and questionable value propositions
