After days of denials, the White House has confirmed that the U.S. Navy carried out a “double tap” strike—returning to a damaged vessel off the Venezuelan coast and killing two more people on board.
Republican officials initially rejected the reporting, but later conceded the second strike occurred. Critics now say Washington acted illegally in another country’s sovereign waters, assassinating foreign nationals without trial.
