Defence and Veterans' Services Commission to launch in 2025

This Anzac Day many Australians will be turning their minds to the sacrifices veterans have made in service and conflict, including the Gallipoli and Western Front campaigns. But for veterans and their families, the focus is much closer to home.

The Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide released its final report in September, with 122 recommendations for government.

Among them was the formation of the Defence and Veterans' Services Commission — a new statutory body to oversee reform — which will start later this year.
