Australia is the world's second largest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG), and is also the top supplier to our long-time security and economic partner Japan.

Last week, resources minister Madeline King talked about the importance of this bilateral relationship and how Australian gas exports are helping Asia's energy transition. But a new report from energy think tank Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) says Japanese companies are likely "cashing in" at the expense of Australian gas users.
