On July 7, about a hundred Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents descended on Los Angeles’s immigrant-rich neighborhood of MacArthur Park, right by a children’s summer camp. Mayor Karen Bass denounced the action saying it amounted to “a city under siege, under armed occupation.”
