This week on Ring of Fire:

Donald Trump is trying to blame and punish the Democrats for the government shutdown even further this week by announcing that he is permanently “closing Democrat programs” within the federal government. Because there are no partisan programs inside the government, Trump is likely referring to programs that Democrats support, but he was mum on the details. Trump is absolutely dismantling everything good about this country for no reason whatsoever.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy declared this week that the No Kings Day protests are actually a part of Antifa, which the administration has repeatedly, and falsely, claimed is a terrorist organization. Duffy, who is most famous for his stint on reality TV, is trying to make a link that doesn’t exist so that the administration can crack down on protesters across the country.

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson is digging his heels into the government shutdown, threatening this week that it could be the longest shutdown in the history of the United States. Republicans are desperately trying to blame Democrats for the shutdown, but the roots of this particular shutdown go back years when Republicans regained control of the House at the start of 2023 and repeatedly failed since then to pass a real budget.

All that, and much more, on this week’s Ring of Fire Podcast!
