A new tax bill has officially passed (you’ve probably heard it mentioned as the “Big Beautiful Bill”). And while most headlines are focused on politics, we’re focused on what it means for your retirement. The choices you make in the next year or two could have a significant impact on how much you keep and how much goes to Uncle Sam.

You’ll hear about nuanced changes like a much higher SALT cap, expanded charitable giving deductions, and some surprising updates, including deductible car loan interest and a new “senior citizen” tax deduction designed to help offset taxes on Social Security benefits. These changes don’t overhaul the entire tax system, but they create opportunities worth understanding. Knowing how these provisions apply to you can help maximize your savings before the rules potentially change again.

Here’s some of what we discuss in this episode:

📉 What extended lower tax brackets mean for Roth conversions

🧾 How the higher standard deduction may simplify your taxes

🏡 The SALT deduction cap increase from $10K to $40K

💸 The new “senior deduction” and its impact on Social Security

💥 Updated deductions for charitable contributions and car loan interest
