In Matthew 17:17–18, we see a side of Jesus that might catch us off guard. His words sound sharp: “You unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I put up with you?” Yet, even in His frustration, we find the grace and power of a Savior who still shows up.

The disciples had already been given authority to heal, but when faced with this suffering boy, their faith faltered. They tried, but it wasn’t enough. And instead of turning away, Jesus stepped in and did what no one else could—He healed in an instant.

This story reminds us that:

• Sometimes our faith feels too weak, but Jesus remains faithful
• We can’t operate in spiritual authority without intimacy with Him
• Failure in prayer isn’t the end—it’s an invitation back to His presence
• Even when we fall short, His power still breaks through
