Have you ever wondered how living a double life is even possible?

In today’s episode, we’re diving into a topic that comes up all the time in our coaching, course sessions, and personal conversations—compartmentalization. This concept, when misunderstood, creates so much confusion and disconnection in relationships. For many betrayed spouses, understanding it begins to bring clarity to the chaos. For many husbands, it’s a lightbulb moment—finally seeing how addiction was hidden, justified, and separated from the rest of life.

We unpack what compartmentalization looked like in our own story—how I (Clint) could act out and still try to show up as a “present” spouse, while Charity was left wondering, “Was any of our past connection even real?” We also share the metaphor that helped us finally make sense of it all—why it was so damaging, and how true healing began when I stopped living in separate “drawers” and started integrating every part of my life under God’s design for authenticity and intimacy.

If you’ve ever felt confused, disconnected, or wondered how someone could live a double life, we pray this conversation brings clarity and encouragement. There’s hope on the other side of compartmentalization—and freedom in being fully known and fully loved.
