This week I explore some of the foundational questions that I seek to answer when working with clients and indeed in my own efforts at improving my health and losing weight.

I define some key terms - 'movement,' 'activity,' 'exercise,' and 'diet.' I then explore the factors that we need to consider when thinking about where to focus our health efforts. Do I focus on the 'diet' aspect or 'exercise?'

The short answer is, 'it depends,' however, I dig into that and give some guiding thoughts on where to direct our efforts. I also explore the potential benefits that can arise when we differentiate between 'activity' and 'exercise.'

This episode is intended to provide a foundation for next week's episode in which I dig into the 'diet' side of the mix. So watch out for next week's episode too. Get subscribed to ensure you receive every episode.

Martin Whitaker is an experienced MSc level strength and conditioning coach who has worked with clients from a range of background including Team GB athletes. He is currently working on his PhD and specialises in supporting those seeking to find the exercise and nutrition mix that is right for them,
