What happened to Jesus between His death on Good Friday, and His resurrection on Easter Sunday? Article 3, in line with the Apostle's Creed, states that Jesus 'descended into Hell'. (Unless you're using some modern versions of the creed, which says that He descended to the dead...) This week we dig into some of the ambiguities around the language and meaning of Article 3 and the creed, how the church historically, and the reformers in particular, understood this tenet of the faith, and how it informs our thinking about Jesus, ourselves, death, and the Gospel hope of resurrection and eternal life.
