Welcome to the Pining For Pixels podcast! This is my video game variety show podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a subject or theme that interests me, and I will speak about what is on my mind in the world of video games!

The Top 100 returns just in time for a mid-October Halloween treat. The original Diablo was a revelation when it first arrived. This was the first Blizzard game to explore fantasy outside of the WarCraft universe, and a true stab at a gothic horror atmosphere. This game introduced the roguelike style of gameplay to a wider audience than ever before it, and this was well before it became a big sensation like it has become today. All of this was coming from a Studio that Blizzard acquired just the year before! This was the first game to use Battle Net, and the first entry in what would become one of Blizzard's franchise pillars. Tune in to find out what made this initial game full of firsts an instant success.
