Welcome to the Pining For Pixels podcast! This is my video game variety show podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a subject or theme that interests me, and I will speak about what is on my mind in the world of video games!

Time for another entry in the top 100 video games of all time. We are now up to 95, which is the puzzle game classic, Bust-a-Move (aka Puzzle Bobble)! This puzzle game came out in the early 90's, seemingly out of nowhere and quietly gobbled up quarters in the arcade. It's clever use of match 3 puzzles and the use of familiar Taito mascots from Bubble Bobble turned out to be a recipe for success. Within 3 years there were already several sequels and today this franchise continues on every platform with new releases still showing up. This game burned brighter than its parent franchise (Bubble Bobble) and is a staple in the puzzle video game scene. Tune in to hear why this arcade game, released in the time of the fighting game revolution, was able to command such attention and live on to this day like it has.
