Kate reconnects with her longtime friend Amber Rose Johnson, whom she met long before they each had kids—and she’s been laughing with her ever since.
Amber grew up surrounded by fitness and comedy: her dad ran a health club and business, and her mom was an aerobics instructor by day and a comedian and booker by night. But instead of being drawn into the toxic diet culture of that world, Amber charted her own path—embracing body positivity long before it became a movement.
In this conversation, Amber opens up about her unconventional childhood, how her mother taught her to use humor as a way to navigate life’s toughest moments, and how she went on to build a thriving day spa business rooted in self-acceptance and joy.
