Brian Wanner is the Director of Talent & Culture for The GIANT Company, an omni-channel grocer known to customers as GIANT, MARTIN’S, GIANT Heirloom Market, GIANT Direct and MARTIN’s Direct that has been proudly serving families across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia since 1923. At The GIANT Company, Wanner leads a team, focused on culture development and overseeing the employee life cycle for more than 35,000 team members. His areas of responsibility include people strategy, talent management, organizational development, change management, engagement, training and development, and talent acquisition. Wanner’s tenure with The GIANT Company began in 2000 when he joined as an Assistant Store Manager and was later promoted to the role of Store Manager. Since that time, Brian has held roles of increasing responsibility in multiple fields. In addition to his operational roles, Wanner’s passion for people-oriented leadership has led him to roles in disciplines such as learning & development, talent management, diversity, recruitment, supply chain & logistics, and innovation & deployment. Prior to his current role, Wanner served as an interim vice president of store support. In 2019, Wanner moved into his current position as the director for talent & culture. He earned an Associates Degree at Central Penn College, a bachelor’s degree at Elizabethtown College and his master’s degree from Messiah University. Wanner currently serves on the board of advisors for Downtown Daily Bread.
