Reality, Purpose, and the Power of God
Manage episode 521060791 series 3326248
There comes a point in recovery where we stop living in a world of spiritual make-believe and start living in spiritual reality. The Big Book tells us that the childish dream world we once clung to is replaced by a deep sense of purpose and a growing awareness of God working in our lives.
But that awareness isn’t meant to lift us out of the world — it’s meant to prepare us for service in it.
“Keep your head in the clouds with Him, but your feet firmly planted on earth.”
That’s where our fellow travelers are. That’s where the work is. And that’s where usefulness and spiritual sanity meet.
Today we talk about the balance between spiritual experience and real-life responsibility — and how grounding our recovery in purpose keeps us sane, useful, and connected.
