In today’s episode, we have Gitanjali Babbar, the founder and director of Kat-Katha Foundation, an organisation dedicated to supporting women living and working in Delhi’s red-light areas. Gitanjali has spent years working on the ground, listening to the unheard voices of sex workers, and building initiatives to create real change in their lives. She reveals eye-opening truths we don’t see, but need to understand.We discuss her experiences with the women trapped inside the red light areas, the brutal realities that women face, and the broken systems that trap them. From stories of violence and coercion to the myths society believes about consent and choice, Gitanjali explains how deeply rooted the problem is.
In the last segment, she shares some of the most disturbing stories she has witnessed, the fear that keeps women from escaping, and how the cycle of exploitation continues generation after generation.
