A group of senators have spent the week along the South Australian coast hearing first-hand stories of financial devastation and serious health concerns from the toxic algal bloom outbreak.

Across the state, 32 testing sites have seen an increase in algae concentrations, with South Australia's metropolitan coast, hit the hardest.
