BioHarvest Sciences CEO Ilan Sobel joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce a new commercial agreement under the Company’s Botanical Synthesis CDMO Services division. The contract involves developing a plant-based fragrance compound sourced from a plant species threatened by overharvesting and habitat loss, marking BioHarvest’s entry into the multi-billion-dollar fragrance and scents market. Sobel explained that the company’s proprietary AI-assisted research platform played a pivotal role in identifying the optimal plant species for this initiative. The process involves selecting and cultivating targeted plant cells capable of producing the desired fragrance molecules, without the need to harvest the endangered plant itself. The agreement is structured in two stages, with milestone-based payments. The first stage focuses on using the Company’s Botanical Synthesis platform to replicate and amplify the target plant’s cellular material in petri dishes. Stage 2, which will be contingent on Stage 1 success, would involve scaling the production in liquid media, a key step toward commercial-scale manufacturing. Sobel emphasized that this agreement showcases the versatility and sustainability of BioHarvest’s Botanical Synthesis platform, positioning it as a transformational solution across multiple industries beyond nutraceuticals — including fragrance, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) covers Stage 1 of the contract, reflecting the strategic importance and proprietary nature of the partnership. The project is expected to provide an eco-conscious alternative to traditionally extracted compounds, aligning with global trends in sustainable innovation. #proactivinvestors #nasdaq #bhst #pharma #biotech #hearthealth #IlanSobel #FragranceIndustry #PlantBasedCompounds #AIinBiotech #BioreactorTech #SustainableFragrances #ProactiveInvestors #BiotechNews
