We all know there are things in life you probably shouldn’t trust, like gas station sushi or an email from a Nigerian prince. But what about when it comes to retirement planning? Sometimes what looks safe, easy, or even “guaranteed” isn’t so trustworthy when you peel back the layers. In this episode, Steve shares the financial “gas station sushi” equivalents that lure people in but can leave them feeling sick later.

Here’s some of what we discuss in this episode:

🍣 The lure (and danger) of gas station sushi as a metaphor for risky financial choices

🤖 Using AI or WebMD as your doctor or financial advisor

🗣️ Friends & neighbors’ “big wins” aren’t always the full story

🩹 Dollar-store duct tape: sometimes you get what you pay for

⚠️ The risks of blindly following financial rules of thumb
