Tommy Kilpatrick – Welcome to Tommy Kilpatrick's approach to dealing with bank-issued alleged credit card debt by challenging its legitimacy. After writing a successful book, Kilpatrick signed a contract with an infomercial company. For six months, he promoted his book, anticipating a huge monthly payout. However, that didn’t happen. Kilpatrick was left with $85,000 in credit card debt. He was stunned and depressed until he had an epiphany: a bank-issued credit card isn't a true credit card, and no real debt exists because a promissory note was never signed.

He then sued all three banks in federal court, representing himself. While the judge dismissed the cases, Kilpatrick still won. The entire debt was completely removed from his credit report, with no negative marks or tax implications. Kilpatrick's legal filings argued that because the banks had no invoice or promissory note, there was no contract and therefore no debt.

With total U.S. credit card debt over a trillion dollars, Kilpatrick’s story offers a compelling alternative. He explains how people can send a letter to their bank to close the associated checking account and potentially become debt-free within 45 days.
