Tuesday, 21 October 2025 (Week 29 in Ordinary Time – Year C).
Readings:
•First Reading: Romans 5:12, 15, 17–21.
•
•Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 39(40):7–10, 17 “Here I am, Lord! I come to do your will.”
•
•Gospel: Luke 12:35–38.
•
Homily Theme:
“Be Ready Living Every Day in God’s Grace.”
Introduction.
The readings today remind us of two great truths: sin brought death into the world through Adam, but grace and eternal life come through Jesus Christ. The Gospel, meanwhile, calls us to be vigilant to stay awake and ready for the Lord’s coming.
Main Point
We are called to live every moment ready for God, clothed with faith and shining with the light of grace.
Through Adam came disobedience and death; through Christ came obedience and life. Grace is not something we earn it is a gift freely given. Yet, to keep that grace alive, Jesus tells us: “Be dressed for action and have your lamps lit.” This means living each day as if it were our last in faith, love, and service.
Example
Imagine a soldier who always keeps his uniform and gear ready because he never knows when duty will call. In the same way, a Christian should always keep the “lamp” of faith burning through prayer, forgiveness, and good works.
We do not know when the “Master” will knock, but blessed are those whom He finds awake ready with hearts full of light and peace.
The Way Forward
•Stay spiritually alert through daily prayer and reading of Scripture.
•Live each day as a chance to do God’s will.
•Seek forgiveness quickly don’t postpone reconciliation.
•Let your good deeds shine as a lamp of love in a dark world.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, keep my heart awake and my lamp burning. Help me to live in your grace each day so that, when you come, you may find me ready, faithful, and full of love. Amen.
