How the Wayfair Sales Tax Decision Affects You

Until recently, when you bought something online, no sales tax was applied to your invoice because the businesses did not have a physical presence in your state (unless you live in Massachusetts). However, did you know this ended in June 2018 per a Supreme Court decision between South Dakota and Wayfair? The case is changing the entire sales tax landscape in the U.S. In addition to affecting Amazon, Dell, and all online retailers, it also impacts printing companies. That’s because ANY company that sells and delivers tangible products (like printed materials) into a state is now subject to these new rules, but there are many details and things you need to know.
