#97- Loyal but Unfulfilled: Reclaiming Your Yes from What Really Doesn't Inspire
Manage episode 496187020 series 3513509
You can be loyal and still feel lost. Faithful but unfulfilled. Stuck in something that once felt right—but now just feels heavy.
In today’s episode, Dr. Phyllis is talking about the quiet discomfort of staying in a role, relationship, or responsibility that no longer fits. When your “yes” begins to drain you instead of energize you, it may be time to pause and ask: Is this still aligned with what God is doing in me now?
Recently on a walk, I was reminded that loyalty without inspiration starts to feel like obligation. That nudge led me to this simple framework to help process when it's time to release something—even if it still looks “good” on the outside.
The A.C.T. Framework:
A – Acknowledge the expired yes
C – Clarify what inspires you now
T – Take permission to transition
Let this be your permission to reflect, realign, and take the next step—one that’s rooted in purpose, not pressure.
Journal Prompts to Go Deeper:
- What am I currently saying yes to that no longer inspires or energizes me?
- Am I staying in this situation out of fear, guilt, or obligation?
- What part of me is afraid to let go—and what would help me feel safe to release it?
- What currently inspires me? What am I curious or excited about that I’ve been ignoring?
- If I believed God had something new for me, what would I begin to release to make room for it?
Quotes from Today’s Episode:
“Loyalty without inspiration becomes obligation. And obligation without alignment leads to depletion.”
