It’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and this is the part we often skip over.

The unseen. The unspoken. The quiet unraveling that happens when you stay in motion too long, carry too much, and check in on everyone but yourself. Dr. Phyllis has been on that treadmill. She’s run herself into the ground trying to hold it all together. And she knows firsthand: looking like you have it together doesn’t mean you’re okay.

Ignoring what’s going on inside—telling yourself it’s not that bad, convincing yourself you don’t have time to deal—isn’t strength. And making your struggles invisible isn’t a solution.

Dr. Phyllis offers a simple three-part self-audit to return to, especially when life feels heavy:

1. Spiritual Depletion: When was the last time you felt spiritually grounded? Not distracted or productive—genuinely fed?

2. Emotional Leakage: Are you snappy? Numb? Avoiding what you know you need to face? Those signals matter.

3. Mental Overload: What’s filling your mind right now? Is it clear or chaotic?

This isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about noticing. Naming. Responding. You are allowed to pause. To recalibrate. To be honest about what you need.

Because your yes, your purpose, your presence—they all matter.

But so does your health. Start with a check-in. Start with you.

Quotes from Today’s Episode:

"Looking like you're holding it, you're keeping it all together, you got it going on, does not mean you're okay."

“You check in on everyone else, but who checks on you? And when was the last time you stopped long enough to listen to your own heart?”
