God established the Sabbath in creation as a day of rest and worship (Ge 2:1–3). Though some view it as an outdated Old Testament rule, Scripture confirms its enduring relevance for believers. Jesus, “Lord even of the Sabbath,” clarified its purpose and renewed its spirit (Mk 2:28). Today, we observe the Lord’s Day—Sunday—to honor his resurrection and enjoy God’s gracious gift of rest, worship, and spiritual refreshment in Christ (Ac 20:7).
