Lee Ryan is on the train from Chicago heading toward the West Coast. Feeling a little bored and impatient, he decided that the club car might help pass the time. Once there, Lee found a familiar face that he had known casually over a number of years, a talkative newspaper reporter who seemed to know many things about many people. The reporter says to Lee "You picked a good train. You can continue to follow my boy there, Jeff Larkin. I have to get off this train at the next stop, because, according to my newspaper, there's no story here". Lee says "Larkin? That name sounds familiar". Reporter says "Yeah, he looks that way too. He's sitting right over there with that girl". Lee says "Oh, she's not bad". Reporter says "Oh, she is just like all the rest, hanging around him thinking he's going to get that money". Lee says "What money?" Reporter says "Oh, you didn't recognize him. He's an ex-con now, but I knew him when he was a big man. He'd plan the robberies and his partner, Noisy Nevins, would pull them off. Their last job was a 100,000 dollar bank job. Larkin got careless, and he got five years". Lee asks "Who got the 100,000?" Reporter says "It disappeared, so did Nevins".
